Transforming the Map has had great success in the short amount of time we have been operating as a non-profit. We have sent a team to Haiti to do relief efforts after Hurricane Matthew, and have recently partnered with a school in Van Buren, Arkansas, to ensure those children have a Christmas like none before. Your help has made that possible.
Right now, we have an urgent need. Roody Joseph, our Director in Haiti, advised us that an orphanage we have assisted in the past has no food or water. There are 17 children in that orphanage. We are desperately collecting funds to send to Roody so he can buy food and water to sustain them until the end of the year.
We are currently reading Mark Batterson’s book “Chase the Lion” where he challenges the reader that “if your dream doesn’t scare you, it is to small.” We have big dreams and we want you to be a part of it. In Mr. Batterson’s book he tells the story of a Holocaust survivor, Gerda Weissmann. The story goes that Ms. Weissman and her friend were in a concentration camp, and her friend found a raspberry, and carried it on a leaf the entire day and gave it to Gerda as a present at the end of the day. Imagine a world where your greatest treasure is a raspberry and at the end of the day you gave it away. To quote Mr. Batterson, “it’s powerful when we’re on the receiving end, but it’s even more wonderful when we are on the giving end.”
